She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Warren Hammond and Gabriella Sidonie VanEeckhoutte Hammond. She is survived by: her husband Billy Gene Sims; her sister Anna Allison; her children, Marcus A. Sims (Lourdes) of Laurel, MD, Vanessa K. Armstrong of Staunton, VA, Monica Sims Crimmins Hannon (John) of Alexandria, VA, Diana Sims Snider (Keith) of Alexandria, VA and John D. Sims (Theresa) of Alexandria, VA; her grandson Benjamin Narduzzi (Whitney); and her children, Gabriel Narduzzi (Anna), Emily Macedonia (Nick), Bess Sussman (Chad), Nathaniel Snider (Katelyn), Alexander Snider (Elizabeth), William Snider, Samuel Snider (Meghan), Annalisa Sims, Marcella Sims (Brian Rosado), Johnna Sims, Billy G. Sims II (Gail) of Hagerstown, MD and Nourah Barden. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews, a Belgian cousin, and lifelong and recent friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Louis Catholic Church (2907 Popkins Ln, Alexandria, VA 22306). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Louis Catholic Church or to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington.
